This Flannel wheel is most commonly used to buff fine guitar finishes and instruments. These soft flannel buffing wheels are for the finest scratch free buffing on soft metals like brass, copper, gold, and others. They are excellent for final buffing on lacquered products like guitars and pianos. Flannel buffs should be used with the finest coloring compounds like White Diamond XXX, BP-1025, BP-335 and Red Rouge. These wheels are 18 plys of flannel sewn with one row of sewing around the center hole. They are roughly 5/8" to 1" inch thick. Like other full Disc wheels they can be stacked together on the buffing shaft to reach the desired thickness or used alone as a 5/8" inch wide buff. Flannels can be too soft to produce a good shine on steel and stainless steel.
Good as both a first step and as a "last step buff" for guitar buffing. Or for a slightly firmer first step buffing wheel for plastic and lacquer finishes try this 12 x 40 ply white cotton wheel .
